All people will experience compassion, thus enabling them to enjoy the state of science so they develop all manner of sustaining arts (skills) including languages and civics.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Requisites for the state of science to exist.<\/h4>\n

Inclusiveness
\nCollegiality, openness and sharing
\nInquiry, wonder and forgiveness
\nHonesty and trust
\nGenerosity of Time and Reflection
\n(All these being qualities of Compassion)<\/p>\n

Aspirations<\/h4>\n

Conservation and Harmony with universal flows and balances;
\nInquiry, Inclusiveness, Wonder and Fulfilment,;
\nSharing, Equity and Democratic Community;
\nIntegrity, Humility and Respect.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Key Competencies<\/h4>\n

Enjoying compassion for self, other humans and all sentient beings;
\nEnjoying the state of science so civics can prevail;
\nSustainable uses of symbols including spoken language.<\/p>\n

Learning Areas<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Civics: <\/strong>exploring the nature of energy and how to use it in sustainable ways.<\/p>\n

Languages:<\/strong> exploring the nature of symbols and how to embrace their sustaining potential.<\/p>\n

Technology:<\/strong>\u00a0 exploring the nature of materials and how we can use them to enhance our capacities in ways that conserve the flows and balances that sustain humanity.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Principles<\/b><\/p>\n

The Compassionate Curriculum principles embody beliefs about what is important in life. They should underpin all school decision making- nationally and locally.<\/p>\n

Compassion<\/strong>
\n(for self, other humans and all sentient beings)
\nBeing scientific<\/strong>
\n(inquiry, truth without fear, inclusiveness, sharing)
\nEmbracing civics<\/strong>
\n(the conservation of sustaining potential, including that of the self,
\nlanguages, communities, minerals and ecology)<\/p>\n

Guiding Principle from the Conservation Principle<\/strong>
\nTrue hope resides in symbol use that embraces the reality of continuous, universal change and personal stewardship.
\nDelusive hope (misery) resides in symbol use that denies this reality.<\/p>\n
